The Fox And The Hawk

At dusk, the forest called them near,
A fox and a hawk, with eyes so clear.

The air was thick with whispered dread,
As shadows danced where light had fled.

The fox crept low, his steps so light,
Ears pricked sharp in the fading light.

The hawk above, with piercing gaze,
Scanned the woods through twilight’s haze.

They ventured deep where darkness lay,
In search of secrets tucked away.

A rustle here, a sudden snap,
Both creatures halted, set their trap.

The forest held its breath, so tight,
As they prowled throughout the night.

For danger lurked in every shade,
Where silence spoke of deals unmade.

Yet neither fox nor hawk turned back,
Their hearts aligned on that shadowed track.

For in the heart of mystery's grip,
They found the thrill of an unknown trip.

And as they moved through night’s cold thrall,
The forest echoed with their call.

A warning clear, to those who’d stray,
That not all who enter find their way.
