Scoundrels

Whenever their story begins with “Now this is true” you can be certain that these two characters are about to spin a yarn. 

It is a well known fact that these brothers delight in fabricating the most fantastic tales. They gleefully egg each other on, but no harm is ever done, as one or the other will break into cackling laughter and give the joke away. They really can't help themselves; they come by it naturally as did their father and uncle, and their grandfather and great uncle before them.
