FAQ Online Events
From my studio to yours!

I have some exciting news! My negative painting techniques are now available to you, no matter where you live, through online workshops and demonstrations.
Technology is amazing, and I enthusiastically embrace the potential of virtual workshops and demonstrations! Learning how to provide you with an exceptional experience has been an exciting challenge for me. I am pleased to let you know how you can take part and answer any concerns that you may have.
Some workshops are offered through host organizations that welcome non-member participants. Programs are available in watercolour or acrylic and cover a range of subjects including floral, nature's patterns, landscape and birds. All of my teachings focuses on negative painting techniques and simplified colour and design concepts.
If you are thinking about taking online lessons but are concerned about how to attend and what to expect I have prepared some information for you.
I look forward to painting with you soon!
Linda

The Virtual Workshop Experience For Painting Students
With Linda Kemp
How do I attend a virtual workshop?
I will present the program on my business Zoom account so you can participate from your home computer or tablet. You will receive the link from the workshop coordinator a few days before the event with instructions for connecting.
A supply list and handouts for the workshop will be sent to you by email.
Limited registration means that you will receive individual attention.
There will be a monitor for the workshop who will show you how use the Zoom platform effectively before the start of the first day. The monitor will control the waiting room, keep track of question and manage any video and audio controls/troubles with the least disturbance to the workshop.
You will speak to me through the microphone on your computer and also through the Chat feature on Zoom.
What happens during the workshop?
My online programs include live interaction, illustrated lessons and recorded video demonstrations. Each day begins with a welcome and overview of the schedule and program. You will know exactly how the day will unfold and the objectives. Every workshop program is unique. I prepare my demonstrations ahead of time, using professional quality recording equipment and editing tools. By pre-recording the demonstration, I take the risk out of live demos to offer great lighting, focus, sound and output. You will have a better-than-front-row seat!
I will upload the daily recorded video demonstrations to our private workshop website. You will receive a link so you can watch and painting along as many times as you like for an additional 6 weeks. These links are available only to the students in this workshop. Even if your internet is uncooperative on the day of the workshop, you can watch the demonstration as often as you want and when your connection is good.
In addition to the demonstrations, the workshop lessons, teaching visuals, examples and product explanations are presented through a live Keynote presentation. Questions are monitored and answered live.
Student painting time is an important part of the program. You are welcome to check in with me for guidance during painting time.
Will there be a review or critique?
There will be time for questions and concerns. You may choose if and how you want to share your work. The simplest is to hold your paintings up to your camera, but this is not always the best approach. For a higher quality review, you may email a picture of your painting to me. All of the class work will be put in a slide show for comments the following day.
Can we stay in-touch after the workshop?
Yes! I would like that!
I have set up a private Facebook group (Linda Kemp Workshops) for you to post your paintings and share with other students after the workshop.
You can re-watch the demonstrations and post questions on the FB group.
I will post my virtual workshops to my webpage: www.lindakemp.com If you complete the subscription pop-up when you visit, I will let you know about any new programs you might be interested in and you will be the first to know about my educational blog posts.
